Packaging Quotes & Budget

When to use it

Use two confirmed quotes for the same specification. A lower price per box can still require more cash and leave excess inventory. Quantities must be positive integers; prices and budget nonnegative. Values are illustrative, not supplier quotes.

Calculation method

Goods = quantity × unit price. Add setup and shipping for each alternative separately. Budget minus total gives the balance; a negative balance means a shortfall. Compare B minus A for extra spend and boxes, and A minus B for the saving per box.

Change one input

Increase only the budget by 200 in the example currency. Totals and unit costs stay unchanged; both balances increase by 200. If changing order quantities, obtain the matching unit price and shipping quote too.

Results are displayed to at most two decimal places; later formulas use unrounded values.

Scope and limits

• Two confirmed quotes; update price and shipping when quantities change.
• The same setup fee applies separately to each alternative.
• Excludes tax, design, samples and special finishes. Check stock and cash needs.

Download and import into Calvance to edit the numbers. The canvas does not reject every invalid input; check the stated ranges.

How to import your template

1. Save the file. Choose Download template and save the .calvx file to Files on your iPhone or iPad. From a computer, you can send it to your device with AirDrop.
2. Open Import. In All Canvases in Calvance, tap the add button to open the template screen, then choose Import.
3. Choose the file. Select the saved .calvx file to create your own canvas. Importing uses one canvas from your allowance.
4. Edit and check. Check the results against the worked example, then add your numbers. Duplicate the canvas to keep different versions.
